Graphical User Interface Design. "GUI"

In the design stage you are replicating your existing corporate identity and branding strategy into the web. In doing so, you must consider everything from anticipated navigational patterns of the user in order to retain and/or direct traffic within the site, to media compression and what is technologically possible. In this stage you also must determine needs for future growth in order to simplify future site evolution. If you don't have a site map at this stage, you need one to come about during the design process.

Some of the details that will occur at this stage are allocation for project space and file structure creation for efficient development, backup and archiving.
Conversion of existing content, while retaining all original electronic files.
Finished roughs for illustrations should be created, photographic sessions should be planned and interface Design prototype pages are created with minimal programming in order to further ascertain logical navigation look and feel, and additional content placement.

MedeaWorks includes interface design, logo design or modification, photographs and other content creation into it's site quotes. We can do it all in-house while many other firms cannot.

At this point you should be able to have an online view of one or more main and additional pages for approval of "the Look" of your site's design. Navigation scheme programming refinements may not be fully functional, but should have been decided upon before the design in order not to "redesign".

Once approved, final photographic sessions, final development of artwork, copywriting and content conversions take place as all elements of content are readied for production.

"At MedeaWorks, our meticulous approach to your interface creation will result in an online presence that will provide functionality within design, while retaining the user for the intended purpose. Your content will be easily located from anywhere within the site."

In any endeavor there are always options. More often than not a targeted look is clarified by it's content and branding. When there is an option for more MedeaWorks tends to go the extra mile.

There are numerous ways and applications to design an interface or GUI. They all have a slightly different outcome. In this example, we use Adobe Photoshop to demonstrate the basics.
