  You're at: AIRBRUSH RETOUCHING

Airbrush Photo Retouching was at one time, the only way to do extreme manipulation to a photo before computers came along. The first time I actually ever touched an airbrush or tried(I say tried) to use it, was for photographic purposes. It was a Paasche AB Turbo, the most complex piece of airbrush machinery out there. I had done a fair amount of hand brush retouching and hand oil coloring, and even micro brushwork on negatives and transparencies. But I soon found that even minor photo retouching with an airbrush was not the best way to learn the tool. Although I will never be a master photoretoucher with the airbrush, it has given me invaluable artistic insight into the use of Photoshop.

The top row of photos are black and white(Ilford film processed in Accufine), hand printed in the darkroom on EktalureX and colorized with airbrush and brush retouching using Marshall oils and DR. PH Martin colors.
